釋曰：涅槃雖不依此識生，然由此識持惑、道種，道生斷惑，證得涅槃。展轉言之，亦依於識，方能證得。

Explanation: Although nirvāṇa does not arise dependent on this consciousness, nevertheless, because this consciousness holds the seeds of defilements and the path, when the path arises and severs defilements, nirvāṇa is realized. Indirectly speaking, it also depends on consciousness for one to be able to realize it.
