釋曰：按《涅槃經》有五種子：一者根子，二者莖子，三者種子，四者節子，五者子子。以外五法比於內種，故云如也。內五種者謂識、名色、六處、觸、受。又五道種，此種皆依阿賴耶為取等，潤能有當果，所以故云有取之識。

The commentary says: According to the Nirvāṇa-sūtra, there are five kinds of seeds: first, root-seeds; second, stem-seeds; third, node-seeds; fourth, joint-seeds; fifth, seed-seeds. The five external dharmas are compared to internal seeds, hence it says "like." The five internal seeds refer to consciousness, name-and-form, the six sense-bases, contact, and sensation. Furthermore, they are seeds of the five destinies; these seeds all rely on the ālaya to serve as grasping and so on, which through moistening can produce future fruits; for this reason it is called "consciousness with grasping."
