按彼論云：「又諸轉識定非所熏，以彼六識無定相應。何以故？以三差別互相違故。若六轉識定俱有者，不應所依、所緣、作意三種各別。以各別故，六種轉識不定俱生；不俱生故，無定相應；無相應故，何有所熏、能熏之義？」

According to that treatise: 'Moreover, the evolving consciousnesses are definitely not that which is perfumed, because those six consciousnesses lack fixed association. Why? Because the three distinctions mutually conflict. If the six evolving consciousnesses were definitely co-existent, their support, objective support, and attention should not be threefold and distinct. Because they are distinct, the six kinds of evolving consciousness do not definitely arise together; because they do not arise together, they lack fixed association; because they lack association, how could there be the sense of that which is perfumed and that which perfumes?'
