意識本欲緣於前境名作意也。言資養者，即本論云：二依資養故。《疏》脫二字，云何二依？
The mental consciousness originally intending to grasp the preceding object is called manaskāra. Saying 'nourishing' refers to the root treatise saying: 'Because of the nourishment of the two bases.' The Commentary has dropped two words. What are the two bases?
