按彼論釋云：此說何義？似色現識從自種子緣合轉變差別而生，佛依彼種及所現色，如次說為眼處、色處，如是乃至身處、觸處。

Consulting that commentary, it explains: 'What meaning does this state? The actual consciousness appearing as form arises from the confluence of conditions and transformations of its own seeds; relying on those seeds and the manifested form, the Buddha in sequence spoke of them as the eye-base and form-base, up to the body-base and touch-base.'
