釋：謂即眼識而能現似境相轉矣。識外理無真實色體，故名似色。識現似色故，說眼識名似色現。從能生已識體之種，此種復由境界等緣，合已異舊，名為轉變。由斯識體，方從自種差別得生。

Explanation: This means that it is the eye consciousness that is able to manifest resembling the objective aspect and function. Apart from consciousness, there is in principle no real material entity, hence it is termed 'resembling form'. Because consciousness manifests resembling form, eye consciousness is said to be 'manifesting resembling form'. From the seeds that can generate the substance of consciousness itself, these seeds, further due to conditions such as objects, transform and differ from their previous state upon confluence, which is termed 'transformation'. Due to this, the substance of consciousness only then arises distinctly from its own seeds.
