4.381

依疏所簡，可為四句：一、似常非一，第八心所。似一非常，眼等轉識。似一似常，賴耶識體。非似一、常，轉識俱所諸種色等者。

According to the distinctions in the Commentary, four alternatives can be made: 1. Resembling permanence but not singularity: the mental factors of the eighth [consciousness]. 2. Resembling singularity but not permanence: the evolving consciousnesses such as the eye [consciousness]. 3. Resembling singularity and resembling permanence: the essence of the ālaya consciousness. 4. Resembling neither singularity nor permanence: the various seeds, forms, and so forth concomitant with the evolving consciousnesses.
