答：至理識生實藉根、境。就勝緣說，依眼非色，亦猶識、境互相因生，而依主勝稱為唯識。又濟巨川匪唯一筏，假諸帆橈方堪利涉，世就勝言舟為度矣。

Answer: In ultimate truth, the arising of consciousness indeed relies on both faculty and object. Speaking in terms of the predominant condition, it relies on the eye, not on form. This is just as consciousness and object are causally produced mutually, yet based on the predominance of the master, it is called 'vijñapti-mātra'. Furthermore, crossing a great river is not done with a single raft alone; it relies on various sails and oars to be fit for successful crossing, yet people in the world designate the boat as the means of crossing based on its predominance.
