釋曰：二十二根中幾學等三？復以學等而為境義。論答：九學、無學、非學非無學，以三種為義。

Explanation: Among the twenty-two faculties, how many are the three [categories], trainee and so forth? And which take trainee and so forth as their objective cognitive object? The treatise answers: Nine are of the trainee, of the non-trainee, and of neither the trainee nor the non-trainee, and take the three kinds as their object.
