6.162

論云：唯有心者，心識是一，唯聲為遣所取境義，由彼無故，能取亦無，不遮心法，由彼與心不相離故。如說若無心所有法心未曾轉，若爾，滅定何故唯心？

The treatise says: "'Only mind' means that mind and consciousness are one; the word 'only' serves to eliminate grasped objective referents. Because those [referents] do not exist, the grasping [subject] also does not exist; it does not exclude mental factors, because they are not separate from mind. Just as it is said that without caitasikas, citta has never operated. If so, why is the cessation attainment said to be only mind?"
