答：九品相望成無間緣，此果不爾，下論但云二緣得故，於中非無能引上品同性之者，依全處說故不取也。若言全無，以現望現為等流果，豈唯他識？故許者勝，若具說者依十處得。

Answer: The nine grades, in relation to one another, constitute the immediately contiguous condition, but this result is not like that; below, the treatise only says that it is obtained by two conditions. Among them, it is not the case that there are none that can induce a superior one of the same moral nature, but because it speaks on the basis of the complete base, it does not take [it]. If one says it is completely absent, taking current [moments] in relation to current [moments] as equal outflow results, how could it only be other consciousnesses? Therefore, those who permit it are superior; if stated fully, it is obtained based on ten bases.
