6.66

釋曰：緣非非想心、心所法生厭離心而入彼定，此依初修；依滅盡者，即任運緣非非想處心、心所法生厭離等，與前相似，云「亦如是」，此依久習。又釋初緣有為行厭捨想心，後緣無為行厭捨想心；厭捨義同，云「亦如是」，亦約初久二修別也。

Explanation: Taking the cittas and caittas of neither-perception-nor-non-perception as objects, one generates a mind of revulsion and enters that concentration; this is said in terms of initial cultivation. 'Relying on cessation' means spontaneously taking the cittas and caittas of the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception as objects and generating revulsion and so forth; being similar to the former, it says 'is also like this'; this is said in terms of long practice. Another explanation: first, one takes conditioned formations as objects and generates a mind with the notion of revulsion and relinquishment; later, one takes the unconditioned as object and generates a mind with the notion of revulsion and relinquishment. The meaning of revulsion and relinquishment being identical, it says 'is also like this'; this is also distinguished in terms of initial and long-standing cultivation.
