二名施設執，復有二種：謂非文字、文字所作。非文字所作者，謂執此為何物？云何此物？此物是何？此物云何？文字所作者，謂執此為此物，此物如是：謂五蘊、三性、為、無為等。《顯揚》同也。

Second, grasping through nominal designation has two kinds: namely, that made without words and that made with words. That made without words refers to grasping: 'What thing is this? How is this thing? This thing is what? How is this thing like?' That made with words refers to grasping: 'This is this thing; this thing is like this: namely, the five aggregates, the three natures, conditioned, unconditioned, and so forth.' The Prakaraṇāryavācā is also identical.
