Answer: That treatise says: One is said to abide in the morality that benefits sentient beings through eleven aspects. Namely: for sentient beings, bodhisattvas are partners in all their various tasks. Furthermore, for the sentient beings of a country, bodhisattvas expound [the Dharma] in accordance with reason to cause them to sever all evil. Furthermore, toward those sentient beings who have shown them kindness, bodhisattvas are deeply mindful of that kindness and constantly think to repay it. Furthermore, for those sentient beings who encounter terrors, bodhisattvas are able to provide rescue and protection. Furthermore, for those sentient beings who dwell in decline and affliction, bodhisattvas are able to explain things well so as to free them from sorrow and grief. Furthermore, bodhisattvas prepare the requisites of life, and whenever someone comes to beg, they bestow them upon all. Furthermore, bodhisattvas by nature delight in gathering in sentient beings, leading the assembly in accordance with the Dharma, and expediently benefiting them; with no hidden [selfish] motives, they first give them a basis of reliance, and with a mind of compassion, they visibly work benefit for them. Furthermore, bodhisattvas by nature delight in following along with the minds of sentient beings; first understanding their essential nature, they only then follow along with them, and by following their minds, they cause evil to cease and wholesome dharmas to arise. Furthermore, bodhisattvas by nature delight in praising genuine virtues to cause others to rejoice. Furthermore, bodhisattvas by nature delight in feeling compassion, disciplining sentient beings through methods of taming. Furthermore, in order to benefit sentient beings, bodhisattvas display supernormal powers. These are called the three kinds of moral treasuries of a bodhisattva, and they are also called the immeasurable great treasury of merits, as explained extensively therein.
