Asaṅga's treatise text is fully cited in the *Commentary*. Asabhāva's commentary explains: 'Namely, in the formless realm, when an anāsrava mind arises and the worldly mind ceases, there is no retribution subsumed under that destiny. Without exertion, one should naturally attain nirvāṇa without remainder, because when the counteracting [path] is present, all that is to be countered is forever severed.' It also explains 'extinguishing two destinies' and so on, saying: 'When born in the Peak of Existence and wishing to sever all afflictions of that plane, because ideation is subtle and weak, its own plane lacks the path; because the Sphere of Nothingness is bright and sharp, one gives rise to that anāsrava mind and brings it into presence. At that time, both destinies should be extinguished and abandoned—namely, the two destinies of the Peak of Existence and the Sphere of Nothingness would be extinguished and abandoned; at that time, sentient beings would become dead and extinguished, because the bases for the two destinies would both be absent. Anāsrava dharmas are not subsumed under a destiny, because they are unattached and because they counteract the destinies.'
