Fascicle 7 of the Daśabhūmika-śāstra quotes the Sūtra as saying: First, the pure mind of equanimity toward past Buddhas; second, toward future Buddhas; third, toward present Buddhas; fourth, purity of discipline; fifth, purity of mind; sixth, purity of eliminating views, doubt, and remorse; seventh, purity of knowing path and non-path; eighth, purity of the knowledge of practice and severing; ninth, the highest purity of reflecting on all factors of awakening; tenth, the purity of transforming all sentient beings. That treatise explains: Having the mind become pure within equanimity consists of the Buddhadharmas and what accords with the Buddhadharmas. The first three, the Buddhas of the three times, the ten powers, and so forth, are the Buddhadharmas. The remaining seven accord with the Buddhadharmas; the Buddhadharmas are accomplished through these disciplines, concentrations, wisdoms, and transformation of sentient beings. Discipline is the fourth; concentration is the fifth; the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth are collectively subsumed under the purity of wisdom.
