The texts of the Yogācārabhūmi and this treatise differ, as reconciled in the Commentary. There is an opinion: Conditioned phenomena are of two kinds: first, that which is shifted by the four marks and produced by causes and conditions; second, that which is produced by afflictions. Here, speaking of 'conditioned' is based on the latter meaning; hence the term 'conditioned' only refers to conditioned arising. This explanation is superior, because in the subsumption below, it is subsumed under two natures. However, the Prakaraṇāryavācā says: with regard to defiled and pure dharmas, one contemplates the real nature of the transmigration of all formations. It is based on mundane purity, so they do not contradict each other.
