或分為三：初立論宗；第二立因，以經成論；第三舉喻。前第三門，攝入立宗，為簡無失，今此所言：「安立大乘三界唯識」，即立宗也。凡有三意：

Alternatively, it is divided into three: first, establishing the treatise's tenet; second, establishing the reason (hetu), using the sūtras to establish the treatise; third, adducing an analogy. The third gate from before is subsumed under establishing the tenet, so that distinguishing them incurs no error. Now, what is stated here—'Establishing the Mahāyāna [teaching that] the three realms are vijñapti-mātra'—is the establishment of the tenet. In all, it has three meanings:
