長者得道，後還本家。闍提怪遲遣人往覓。長者家人，不許入舍。闍提不測，自往覓之。長者莊嚴高座自坐，別安小座，以待闍提。闍提見之法用如此，訶責長者。

After the householder attained the Path, he returned to his original home. Jñātiputra found the delay strange and sent someone to look for him. The householder's family would not allow [him] to enter the house. Jñātiputra, perplexed, went in person to look for him. The householder had prepared and adorned a high seat on which he sat himself, while setting up a separate small seat to receive Jñātiputra. Seeing this protocol, Jñātiputra rebuked the householder.
