總是第二，釋外所徵，廣破外執。從斯論首已有二文，初立論宗唯識無境，及此所說，釋外徵等。總是第一，正辨本宗，破執釋難。自下第二，結己所造，歎深推佛。

This as a whole is the second part: explaining the external objections and broadly refuting external attachments. From the beginning of this treatise there have been two main passages: first, establishing the treatise's proposition of vijñapti-mātra without external objects; and second, what has been stated here, explaining the external objections and so forth. This entire portion constitutes the first major section, directly discerning the fundamental thesis, refuting attachments, and resolving difficulties. From here below is the second major section: concluding one's own composition, praising the profundity [of the doctrine], and deferring to the Buddha.
