Commentary: This explains the lower two lines of the verse. If it is said that because atoms have no spatial divisions they do not conjoin with each other, then when the middle atom conjoins with the six, they should mutually merge and occupy one and the same location. Since the six atoms abide in the same place as the one atom in the middle, all coarse aggregate forms such as the aṇu should be equal to the dimension of an atom, without any increase, because they occupy the very same location as the atom.
