又門是所詮事理，乃通指百法故勝；論是能詮教，唯聲、名、句、文故劣。將劣就勝，以勝顯劣，云門之論，依主釋也。

Furthermore, "gateway" is the signified matters and principles, which are superior because they broadly point to the hundred dharmas; "treatise" is the expressive teaching, which is inferior because it consists only of sounds, names, sentences, and phonemes. Subordinating the inferior to the superior to reveal the inferior by means of the superior, saying "the treatise of the gateway," is a tatpuruṣa compound.
