1.11

又論為體，乃聲、名、句、文；門為用，於論上有不壅滯之功能。以體就用，攝用歸體，云門即論，持業釋也。

Furthermore, the treatise is the essence, which is sounds, names, sentences, and phonemes; the gateway is the function, in that it has the function of non-obstruction upon the treatise. Subordinating the essence to the function and subsuming the function into the essence, saying "the gateway that is the treatise," is a karmadhāraya compound.
