又大乘通教理行果，是所詮故勝；論是能詮，唯教故劣。將劣就勝，以勝顯劣，云大乘之論，依主釋也。

Furthermore, the Mahāyāna encompasses teaching, principle, practice, and fruit, and is superior because it is the signified content; the treatise is the expressive capacity, which is inferior because it is only the teaching. Subordinating the inferior to the superior to reveal the inferior by means of the superior, saying "the treatise of the Mahāyāna," is a tatpuruṣa compound.
