又百法是所緣，乃舉全數故勝，明是能緣之慧，即別境五中之一，法爾故劣。將劣就勝，以勝顯劣，云百法之明，依主釋也。

Furthermore, the hundred dharmas are the cognitive objects, which are superior because they represent the full number; "understanding" is the cognizing wisdom, which is inferior because, as a matter of dharma nature, it is merely one among the five viniyatas. Subordinating the inferior to the superior to reveal the inferior by means of the superior, saying "the understanding of the hundred dharmas," is a tatpuruṣa compound.
