1.59

「阿賴耶識望末那得有二緣：阿賴耶識生現行末那故得有因緣，不相障礙故得有增上緣；不由阿賴耶識滅故末那得生，無等無間緣，阿賴耶識不能緣末那故，無所緣緣。

"The ālaya-vijñāna with respect to the manas can have two conditions: because the ālaya-vijñāna generates the actively manifest manas, there can be the causal condition; because they do not obstruct each other, there can be the sovereign condition; since the manas does not arise due to the cessation of the ālaya-vijñāna, there is no immediately antecedent condition; and because the ālaya-vijñāna cannot cognize the manas, there is no objective support condition.
