1.63

「末那望阿賴耶識得有三緣：謂末那熏阿賴耶識故得有因緣，末那緣阿賴耶識得有所緣緣，不相障礙故得有增上緣；不由末那滅故阿賴耶識生，故無等無間緣。

"The manas with respect to the ālaya-vijñāna can have three conditions: that is, because the manas perfurmes the ālaya-vijñāna, there can be the causal condition; because the manas cognizes the ālaya-vijñāna, there can be the objective support condition; because they do not obstruct each other, there can be the sovereign condition; but since the ālaya-vijñāna does not arise due to the cessation of the manas, there is no immediately antecedent condition.
