1.64

「末那望第六識得有一緣，謂不相障礙故得有增上緣；不由末那滅故第六識生，故無等無間緣。末那不熏第六識故無因緣，末那不能緣六識為境故無所緣緣。

"The manas with respect to the sixth consciousness can have one condition: namely, because they do not obstruct each other, there can be the sovereign condition; since the sixth consciousness does not arise due to the cessation of the manas, there is no immediately antecedent condition; because the manas does not perfume the sixth consciousness, there is no causal condition; and because the manas cannot take the sixth consciousness as an object, there is no objective support condition.
