Third, from 'reaching [the stage of] all sentient beings' onward, clarifies the virtue of pre-eminence. There are also three clauses: first, 'the stage of contemplation by sentient beings' is the pre-eminent virtue of great compassion. Second, 'the stage of exhausting the knowable' reveals the virtue of great wisdom. Third, 'ascending to the non-dual,' etc., reveals the virtue of great merit. Another explanation: the first is the virtue of benevolence, meaning sentient beings look up in contemplation without satiety. The second clarifies the virtue of wisdom, because illumination of the knowable is completely exhausted. The third reveals the virtue of merit, because it is supremely unique and without peer.
