1.87

問：「先陳能別唯在法中，何故今言互相差別？」答：「立敵相形，法為能別。體義相待，互通能所。對望有異，亦不相違。」

Question: "Earlier it was presented that the qualifying attribute (viśeṣaṇa) resides only in the predicate. Why is it now said that they qualify each other?" Answer: "When proponent and opponent confront each other, the predicate is the qualifying attribute (viśeṣaṇa). When substance and meaning depend on each other, both reciprocally admit of being qualifier and qualified. The perspectives being different, they do not contradict each other."
