問：「若爾，因過皆欲成宗，何故但一名為不成？」答：「因雖三相，唯初一相正親成宗，翻名不成；餘皆宗具，合二建宗，成宗義疎，故翻但名不定、相違。各隨義親以得其稱，皆准此知。」

Question: "If so, all fallacies of the reason are intended to establish the thesis; why is only one [type] named 'unestablished'?" Answer: "Although the reason has three characteristics, only the first characteristic directly and intimately establishes the thesis, and its reversal is called 'unestablished'. The remaining [two] are both instruments of the thesis; combining the two to erect the thesis establishes the thesis in a more distant manner. Hence their reversals are only named 'indeterminate' (anaikāntika) and 'contradictory' (viruddha). Each receives its designation according to how intimate its sense is; all should be understood in accordance with this."
