問：「聲、瓶俱無常，諸所作者皆無常，聲、瓶無常兩俱成，聲、瓶俱所作，諸無常者皆所作，何廢聲、瓶所作兩俱成？」答：「彼聲所作非無常，瓶許所作亦無常，舉瓶所作既無常，類聲所作亦無常，不欲成瓶所作無常，何得別以無常成所作？」

Question: "Both sound and a jar are impermanent, and whatever is produced is impermanent; the impermanence of sound and the jar are both established. Both sound and a jar are produced, and whatever is impermanent is produced; what prevents the productness of sound and the jar from both being established?" Answer: "The productness of that sound is not impermanence, while the jar is accepted to be produced and also impermanent. Since citing the productness of the jar shows it to be impermanent, by analogy the productness of sound is also impermanent. One does not intend to establish the impermanence of the jar's productness, so how could one separately establish productness by impermanence?"
