問：「此《入正理》為同於彼言於色等，但是五識，亦有餘三？」答：「有二解。一云同彼，於色等境且明五識，以相顯故，此偏說之，彼論廣明，故具說四。二云具攝，言色等義不唯五境，彼之三種亦離名、種等所有分別。此略總合，彼廣別說。」

Question: 'Does this Nyāyapraveśa agree with that [text] in speaking of "with regard to form and so forth" as only the five consciousnesses, or does it also include the remaining three?' Answer: 'There are two explanations. The first says that it agrees with that [text]: with respect to objects such as form, it temporarily explains the five consciousnesses, because their characteristics are obvious, and it exclusively mentions these, whereas that treatise explains them broadly and hence fully speaks of all four. The second says that it completely subsumes [them]: the phrase "objects such as form" does not only mean the five sense-objects; those other three kinds are also free from all conceptual constructions of name, universal, and so forth. This [text] summarizes them collectively, while that [text] explains them broadly and separately.'
