Question: "Why are the mutually accepted property and the not mutually accepted property divided into proposition and reason, while the two [aspects] on the homogeneous example are combined into a single member?" Answer: "In stating a proposition to an opponent, what is not mutually accepted serves as the probandum; because the reason establishes this, that which is mutually accepted is separately established as the probans; and the homogeneous example makes the limit of the meaning visible, both [aspects] together assisting in establishing the preceding [thesis]. Therefore, the reason and proposition are stated separately, while [the two aspects of] the homogeneous example are combined."
