Commentary: This explains the reason. Formulating the inference, one says: The eyes and so forth must primarily be for the use of a composite other; because of being composite; like beddings and the like. Whatever is not primarily for the use of a composite other is definitely not composite; like a tortoise's hair and so forth. Therefore, he now objects: Because beddings and the like are accepted by both schools as being primarily enjoyed by a composite other. Although the treatise does not contain the word "primarily", the intent of the inference's meaning is definitely so; one need not seek otherwise, and it should be understood in this way.
