初「執相應染」者，是上意識所起見修煩惱。如上云「計我我所種種妄執，乃至此識依見愛煩惱增長義故。」

First, 'defilement associated with attachment' refers to the afflictions of view and cultivation produced by the manovijñāna above. As stated above: 'various false attachments conceiving a self and what belongs to a self, up to this consciousness increasing based on the afflictions of views and craving.'
