「何以故」下，約門別立。此文望上釋總義，望下立別門也。心法是一，大乘義多，以何義故，直依是心顯大乘義？

From "Why is this?" downward, it establishes [dharma] individually with respect to the gates. Looking back, this passage explains the general meaning; looking forward, it establishes the distinct gates. The mind-dharma is one, while the meanings of Mahāyāna are many; for what meaning is the meaning of Mahāyāna revealed strictly relying on this mind?
