問：上說生滅，結過屬無明；此文辨因緣，云何結屬心？答：前以無明動彼靜心令其生滅故，此生滅功在無明；今此因緣和合道理，以成辦諸法，無性義顯，不住義彰故，就和合結屬於心也。

Question: Above, in explaining arising and ceasing, the fault was concluded to belong to avidyā; here, in explaining causes and conditions, why is the conclusion attributed to the mind? Answer: Previously, because avidyā moved that tranquil mind to make it arise and cease, the agency of this arising and ceasing lay with avidyā. Now, according to the principle of the harmonious combination of causes and conditions, by which all phenomena are accomplished, the meaning of self-naturelessness is made manifest and the meaning of non-abiding is revealed; therefore, with respect to the harmonious combination, it is concluded to belong to the mind.
