問：既云動靜不一，則應云如來藏不在七識中，何故乃云不在梨耶中？答：梨耶融動靜，動靜無二，是梨耶全；既動靜分，梨耶無別體，故云不在中也。

Question: Since you say motion and stillness are not identical, you should say that the tathāgatagarbha is not within the seven consciousnesses; why do you say that it is not within the ālaya? Answer: The ālaya fuses motion and stillness; motion and stillness being non-dual is the entirety of the ālaya. Once motion and stillness are divided, the ālaya has no separate essence; therefore it is said to be 'not within'.
