如是當念：一切眾生從無始時來，皆因無明所熏習故令心生滅，已受一切身心大苦。現在即有無量逼迫，未來所苦亦無分齊，難捨難離而不覺知。眾生如是甚為可愍。

"Thus one should reflect: 'All sentient beings, because they have been perfumed by avidyā from beginningless time, have minds that arise and cease, and have already suffered all great physical and mental pain. In the present they have immeasurable afflictions and oppression, and what will torment them in the future also has no measure; yet these are difficult to abandon and difficult to leave, and sentient beings are unaware of this. Sentient beings such as these are deeply to be pitied.'"
