10.36

此本覺下，三、同眾生釋。以眾生真心與佛真知不別，故佛應用即是眾生應用。用即體起，故云無二。若就佛說，用即屬佛；若就眾生說，即屬眾生。略同明月現在澄潭，此所現月亦是月影、亦是潭影，下文廣釋。

"This original enlightenment..." is the third part, explaining by equating with sentient beings. Because the true mind of sentient beings is not distinct from the true knowing of the Buddhas, the Buddha's functioning is itself the functioning of sentient beings. Function arises from essence; hence it is said to be non-dual. If spoken of from the perspective of the Buddha, the function belongs to the Buddha; if spoken of from the perspective of sentient beings, it belongs to sentient beings. It is roughly like the bright moon appearing in a clear pool: this manifested moon is both the reflection of the moon and the reflection of the pool. The text below will explain this extensively.
