14.18

一、感用因。疏　機欲人者，此人是樂欲修進之機，即諸求三乘人也。外緣體者，即三賢已上菩薩及佛，皆能作此緣故。修行時者，謂始起厭求，修習善根時也。於中有發意求三乘道果之異。

First, the causes for evoking function. On the Commentary's "Persons with capacity and desire": this person is a capacity with the desire to cultivate and advance, namely, all those who seek the three vehicles. "The essence of the external condition": namely, bodhisattvas from the three worthies upward and Buddhas, because they are all able to act as this condition. "The time of cultivation": this means the time when one first gives rise to revulsion and seeking, and cultivates roots of virtue. Within this, there are differences in initiating the intention to seek the paths and fruits of the three vehicles.
