15.60

此非下，遮疑。恐常情聞此，分別欲知及不能知，便生疑惑，故此遮止。如小乘尚不知菩薩境界，豈況凡夫能測如來功德耶？以真如下，出所以。既是真如之用，安可以有漏心識能知？此顯不思議也。

From "This is not..." on: warding off doubt. Fearing that ordinary sentiment hearing this would try to conceptualize and know it, and failing to know it, would give rise to doubt, this is therefore warded off. Just as the Small Vehicle does not even know the realm of bodhisattvas, how much less could ordinary beings fathom the Tathāgata's virtues? From "Because tathatā..." on: presenting the reason. Since it is the function of tathatā, how could it be known by the defiled mind and consciousness? This shows the inconceivable.
