The Treatise states: "All..." downward: Second, as for dispelling delusive thoughts, there are two parts: first, correctly dispelling them. The Commentary states: "all remaining mental states are dispelled," which has two meanings: First, apart from seeing, hearing, sensing, and knowing, should there be further thoughts in the mind, whatever thoughts arise, all of them are eliminated and dispelled. Second, apart from the previously mentioned objects and contemplations of breath-counting, skeleton contemplation, and the ten pervasive spheres, if there are any contemplations of mundane concentrations whatsoever, such as the nine contemplations and the eight liberations, none of them are relied upon. Because the present mind is oriented toward principle from moment to moment, it filters out thoughts of mundane phenomena; hence it says "all are eliminated." As for "that which is dispelled...", based on illusion, one speaks of awakening, which is also termed illusion; if one speaks of having awakening, one has not yet parted from illusion; to speak of having no awakening is also like this; hence, it must also be eliminated. Thus, because the illusory mind is extinguished, the extinction of illusion is also extinguished. The rest of the text is easy to understand.
