The Treatise states: "Because all..." downward: Second, explaining and establishing. The Commentary states: "conforming to dharmatā": although it says "all dharmas," the intention lies in the true nature; because all dharmas are completely true and all are identical with tathatā, as explained extensively in the gate of tathatā, this then is transcending the marks of mental cognition. As for "further explaining...", the outline points to this text. From "Truly because..." downward explains the meaning of this passage. The previous statement that dharmatā fundamentally lacks thought is truly because the essence of thought is itself empty: fundamentally it is not born, and now it has no extinction; this is fundamental emptiness, not an emptiness achieved by deducing it to be empty. From "This then..." downward synthesizes and explains the import of the text: it does not mean that one must wait for a time of no-thought before unarisen and unextinguished begin; for the very place where thought arises moment to moment is itself non-arising, and the very time thought ceases moment to moment is itself non-extinction. As the sūtra states: "At the very moment of arising there is extinction—this is not spoken for the foolish." Another sūtra states: "It arises right where it is, and is extinguished right where it is." The analogy makes this clear and visible.
