19.56

真中，論　若諸等者，文意反明，疏即順釋。要依等者，以真如是如來之性，故修此三昧方是如來之種。如人生於王家，必繼王業，此亦如是。除此等者，《楞嚴》云：十方如來一門超出妙莊嚴路。又云：十方薄伽梵，一路涅槃門也。十住已去者，謂六種種性之初，即習種性也。不退位者，不退有四：一信、二位、三證、四行，今即位也。

Among the authentic ones, the treatise's "If various, etc.": The meaning of the text clarifies by negation, and the commentary explains directly. Regarding "Must rely, etc.": Because tathatā is the nature of the Tathāgata, cultivating this samādhi is truly the lineage of the Tathāgata. Just as when a person is born into a royal family, he will surely succeed to the royal estate, here it is also like this. Regarding "apart from this, etc.": The *Śūraṅgama-sūtra* says: "The Tathāgatas of the ten directions transcend along a single door to the path of wondrous adornment." It also says: "For the Bhagavats of the ten directions, there is a single path to the door of nirvāṇa." "From the ten abodes onward": This refers to the first of the six kinds of lineage natures, which is the lineage of practice. "The stage of non-retrogression": There are four kinds of non-retrogression: first, in faith; second, in stage; third, in realization; fourth, in practice. Here it is in stage.
