19.64

惡緣中，疏　離天魔外道等者，如上所治，以知諸法實相故，不為恐惑。九十五外道者，如《華嚴》說有九十六，謂六師各有十六種所學法，一法自學，餘之十五各教十五弟子，師徒合論，故成此數。今減一，如餘處說。

Regarding adverse conditions, the commentary's "Free from heavenly māras, non-Buddhists, etc.": As treated above, because one knows the true mark of all phenomena, one is not terrified or deluded. Regarding the ninety-five non-Buddhists: As the *Avataṃsaka* says, there are ninety-six, meaning that each of the six masters has sixteen kinds of doctrines studied; one doctrine is studied by oneself, and the remaining fifteen are each taught to fifteen disciples; combining teachers and disciples, this number is formed. Now one is deducted, as explained elsewhere.
