3.41

然此五字之中有法有喻，約理約行，體用心境，因果教義，總為題目也，如前開題處說。又此一論五分之文，亦不出題中五字：謂解釋分中顯示正義，對治邪執是大；分別發趣道相是乘；修行信心分是起信；初後二分義當於論，立義分中即通大等四字。

Yet within these five words there are dharma and metaphor; they concern principle and practice; essence, function, cognized object, and mind; cause, fruit, teaching, and meaning—together constituting the title, as explained earlier where the title was unpacked. Moreover, the five sections of this single śāstra's text also do not go beyond the five words of the title: namely, in the "Section on Interpretation," revealing the correct meaning and countering heterodox attachments correspond to "Mahā" (Great); analyzing the marks of setting forth on the path corresponds to "yāna" (Vehicle); the "Section on Cultivating Practice and Faith" corresponds to "Awakening of Faith"; the initial and final sections correspond in meaning to "Śāstra"; and the "Section on Establishing the Meaning" extends throughout the four words: "Great," and so forth.
