"Or it is said...", etc., secondly, extensively distinguishes name and characteristics; it has two parts: first, distinguishing the names in reference to two masters. "Chu and Xia" refers to the dialectal distortions in speech and pronunciation between Wu, Chu, and Huaxia in this region; the five regions of India in the Western Regions are also like this, so the reference there is the same as here. It also says: "Ālaya, ādāna, etc., differ only in lightness and heaviness." "Non-disappearance" directly corresponds to the Sanskrit text. "Storehouse consciousness" takes the underlying meaning of the name in translation. "Storehouse is...", etc., reconciles the two names. Because it is appropriated and stored by that view of self, it is continuously perpetuated without beginning; hence it is called "not lost." Therefore, although the names applied to the meaning are slightly different, the meaning underlying the names is not different at all. It is like the Buddha-nature being called awakening, being called knowing, clearly understood, and so on.
