Furthermore, in the Semblance Dharma age of the Buddha Ratnachatradīparāja, there was a monk who entered the house of courtesans holding his bowl to beg for food. The courtesans filled his bowl with food and mocked him, saying: "Your complexion is abhorrent, just like a mass of black ink, and the robes you wear look like a beggar's." When the monk heard this, he threw his bowl into the air, manifested supernormal powers, and departed. Seeing this, the women felt remorse and made vows. Due to the causes and conditions of bestowing food, they were never hungry or thirsty for two thousand kalpas. Because of the causes and conditions of reviling the monk with harsh speech and their sensual desire, they fell into the Dark Hell. Owing to the power of their previous vows, they have now encountered the Buddha, yet they saw the Buddha's body as like a mass of blackness. The Buddha had them repent, and they became arhats.
